Traveling a ton makes time slip away from you, which is my excuse for not producing a blog since the end of March. My apologies. I’ve really been jumping around a lot lately, and these things tend to fall through the cracks. 2021 is picking up steam in a lot of ways. As I write this in late May, Covid cases are declining to lows not seen since last spring, restrictions and mask mandates are beginning to be lifted. “Normal” seems to legitimately be on the horizon for the first time since the Big 12 College Basketball Tournament was canceled while I was on my way to a sports bar in Columbus, OH to watch it.

Here is some advice. Go to Phoenix in February and stay there for the entire month. You simply can’t beat the weather and don’t need to bother trying.

It seems like the weather always strikes right when I’m trying to hit the road. Leaving Ohio, it was snow. Leaving Lubbock, it was wind, sand, and anything that wasn’t bolted down. On the day I was set to depart for Phoenix, the South Plains were graced with a good old-fashioned sandstorm, and I ended up staying put for an extra day. It didn’t seem prudent to pull a 27-foot sail down the highway (See video).
We would like to introduce our new series: Unitas Mobile – See the Community, Serve the Community - Taking the idea of the traveling salesman to the next level. At Unitas Financial Services we are privileged to serve community lenders across the country. The past year has shown the nation that now more than ever community lenders are essential to the prosperity of the communities in which they reside. We believe strongly in the values of community lenders and we feel that relationships are the bedrock upon which these values are built. We always do our best to connect with our clients and to be present whenever possible to help these relationships grow. This desire to connect is behind a new initiative I am taking this year as the Unitas Financial Services VP of Regional Business Development covering Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
